The House Of Pain - in which we are solidly living right now.
We can't seem to get the kids healthy. Colin is in the worst shape right now. He was up wheezing most of the night, sounding croupy. I must say, I've seen a lot of variations of sick kids at this point, and BY FAR this is my least favorite. There is just nothing more terrifying (in the realm of "normal" kid sickness) than my child having trouble breathing, sounding like he is sucking air in through a coffee stir stick.
Blake seems to be feeling better, but only slightly. He has entered the "I'm not so sick that I'm mellow anymore, but I still don't feel great so I am going to make everyone around me miserable" stage now. So charming.
And now, Davis is coughing and maybe even has a fever. I refuse to take his temperature unless he is on fire because it just feels so wrong and invasive. I suppose he is headed toward a wheezy night too, which I am already dreading.
Ah yes, the H.O.P.

Surf & Turf
Conversation in the back row of the mini today between Blake and Colin just after Colin's preschool pickup...on the way to the golden arches drive thru for some Happy Meals - and iced coffee...
Blake: Colin, what did you have for snack today at Countryside?
Colin: Goldfish and raisins.
Blake: You had TWO things for snack today? Wow.
From Blake's reaction you would have thought Colin said "surf and turf." It was hilarious.
Why the golden arches? It has been a really long week. Only about 13 hours of help (but who's counting), and Blake hasn't been to school the entire week. I'm pretty confident that we set a family record for number of hours the television is on during the day this week. Unfortunately, when Blake isn't watching television, he gets wild. And, this week he starts to cough uncontrollably to the point that he almost horks...and sometimes really does. Not so pleasant. So, television is my sedative of choice. That and the McBrick.

Let the "Blogging" begin
I am entering the world of bloggers! I decided it was time to have a place to put my thoughts about living in this house full of boys. It will be a fun way to record and share our life.
I feel so high tech!
